How to check your MacBooks battery status?
As soon as your OS is saying 'replace battery', it is time to replace it. In some cases you might need a battery without prior warning. Sometimes they 'blow up'. In that case usually your trackpad will stop clicking. This is not a defect trackpad but an expanding battery pressing against it. You can also check the status of your battery in the software menu. It goes like this:
1. Hold Option key and click the Apple () menu. Then choose System Information.
2. Under 'Hardware' section of the System Information window, choose Power. The cycle count is listed under 'Battery Information' section.
Usually when your cycle count is more then 1000 the battery will need replacement. You can check the 'Full Charge Capacity' as well and compare it with that of a new battery. If you are down over 40% it might be an indication to replace it as it will not work as long as before. One thing you can try is a 'deep cycle'. Discharge the battery to 0%, keep it empty for 5 hours and after that recharge for 8 hours. Do this once a half year to keep you battery in a good state. Another tip is to recharge your battery around 20-30% and disconnect the charger when it reaches 100%. It is not recommended to always let the battery go to 0%.

Our battery warranty explained
Dr. MacBook Thailand warrant the actual working of the battery and guarantee a minimum capacity of 70% of the original capacity within 1 year of the date of purchase. We do not warrant the number of hours you can use a battery. We look at:
1. if it is charging correctly
2. The total capacity in mAh in comparison with a new battery
These factor determine the warranty. Not subjective facts like 'it works less long then before'.
